Department of Economic Development awards Youth Opportunities tax credits to Boys Hope Girls Hope

ST. LOUIS —The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) today announced that a St. Louis organization that offers various services to Missouri children has been approved for state tax credits under the Youth Opportunities Program (YOP).
Boys Hope Girls Hope has been approved for $115,708 in YOP tax credits. Boys Hope Girls Hope provides character and leadership development and academic services to low-income, at-risk youth in structured, family-like homes staffed by live-in residential counselors who maintain the home routine and facilitate life-coaching, goal setting, service learning and extra-curricular activities. Youth are enrolled in top-rated schools in safe neighborhoods, matched to a college preparatory curriculum and provided with mentors that provide academic support, tutoring and a positive role model. Donations received as part of this YOP project will assist Boys Hope Girls Hope in providing these services to 20 at-risk St. Louis area youth.
The Youth Opportunities Program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides tax credits to organizations administering positive youth development or crime prevention projects.
