KIRKSVILLE – The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) today announced that Adair County has been approved for a $191,100 public needs grant under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The CDBG will be utilized for a small bridge replacement project.
The project area consists of six narrow, concrete, wooden, short-span, one-lane bridges that are all structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. After completion the area will have longer span, wider, two-lane, fully-functional and structurally-sound, steel and concrete bridges.
The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
