JEFFERSON CITY – “Missouri at Work … Investing in Tomorrow,” will be the theme of the 2009 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development, September 9-11 at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront Hotel in downtown St. Louis. The Missouri Department of Economic Development is the host of the annual conference, now in its 51st year.
Economic developers, community leaders and city planners will be just some of the attendees at the conference which will feature speakers and breakout sessions addressing diverse and interesting topics such as economic development strategies; technology-based economic development; government funding options; job growth through education and training; business retention and expansion methods; exporting; entrepreneurship; and much more.
“The conference brings together not only Missouri’s economic leaders, but those who represent the success of economic development for the state,” DED Director Linda Martínez said. “It also provides the much needed opportunity to recognize those Missourians who have exceeded expectations in economic development.”
