Missouri’s tax
climate is attractive for businesses according to the Tax
Foundation's 2008 version of the State Business Tax Climate Index.
Overall, Missouri ranked 15th in the nation and ahead of
its neighbor states in having a tax climate conducive to business
growth.

However, a variety of factors in addition to taxes are at work when a business chooses where to locate, expand, or relocate. According to Area Development’s Corporate Survey, the top five site selection factors are labor costs, highway accessibility, corporate tax rate, state and local incentives, and the availability of telecommunications services.
